5 Reasons Every Biz Needs a Blog: Stationery Companies Can Benefit From More Writing Outside the Card

Krystal writing in a Mother's Day card

Writing and blogging is not new to me. Did you know Around the Way Parchment grew out of a blog? Yup. I started Around the Way Mom (rest in paper) in 2016, then created a line of Mother's Day cards for friends five years later. Managing both the blog and the products became cumbersome, so I let writing go. Because it never left my heart I found myself infusing some of that into the Parchment emails.

Why start The Paper Trails now? Here are 5 reasons why ATWP (and product based businesses) need a blog. It's a fun 3-minute read and the list is below. Let's go.

  1. We Go Together Now: Customer Engagement

  2. Look at Meee: Increased Brand Visibility

  3. Window Shopping is Fun: Showcasing Products

  4. Hugs Will Follow: Highlighting Product Benefits

  5. My Way or the Highway: Establishing Authority

  1. We Go Together Now: Customer Engagement

Fact: 76% of people who feel connected to a brand will buy from that brand over a competitor. And if they interact with said brand online (social media, emails, in-person shopping), a whopping 90% will shop that brand.

I want you to know the face, the story, the family, the struggles and celebrations of Around the Way Parchment. Spending your hard earned dollars with me is a BIG deal and I take it serious.

I appreciate the email readers (subscribe if you haven't!), the social media likes, comments, shares and views. We are in relationship; so, we go together now and that's how engagement works!

  1. Look at Meee: Increased Brand Visibility

Fact: Brands need 6 to 7 interactions with potential shoppers to produce 'brand awareness' and complete a sale.

The more you hear, see and interact with ATWP, the more likely you are to make a purchase. This looks like quality social media posts, engagement from me to you, effective emails to subscribers (no spam!), videos showing the products and their uses and hearing customer testimonials.

I want you to see ATWP, the uses for the cards, the versatility in the products, how they can be a part of your occasions and what they produce: inspiration, encouragement and motivation. This is true of most things we buy; seeing the how and why of the product multiple ways is key.

  1. Window Shopping is Fun: Showcasing Products

Fact: Having a blog connected to a product based store allows you the luxury of purusing and purchasing when you want to.

I don't know when you'll be able to touch the cards through the screen. Until Ai has perfected that feature for ATWP and all product based businesses, the screen is the way to see what's available. Window shopping gives businsses opportunities to highlight specific products, learn the origin story, who it's created for and the unique features.

I don't know about you, but window shopping can be quite fun. It's guilt (and calorie) free!

  1. Hugs Will Follow: Highlighting Product Benefits

Fact: Customer testimonials and experiences are at the core of product benefits.

For the paper world, greeting cards exchanged between people improve relationshps, strengthen connections and keep traditions alive.

Cards are more than pieces of paper. I bet you have cards you've kept over the years from birthdays, holidays or other special occasions. Why do you keep them? Because that physical card symbolizes the connection you have to the sender and a significant emotion, you want treasure it. That's a benefit of greeting cards

The benefits of products go beyond what you expect. I challenge you to learn about them.

  1. My Way or the Highway: Establishing Authority

Fact: 81% of shoppers need to trust a brand to consider buying from it.

Trust in all relationships is a deal-determiner (yes, I made up a word). It is my job (as the business/owner) to build your trust by being visible (online and at in-person events), authentic, honest and by speaking confidently about ATWP.

If I got on my IG stories and acted all timid, shy and confused about ATWP. You would not be interested in anything I had to say.

Gaining your trust in me, ATWP and it benefits is extremely important to me. Without that there is no window shopping and definitely no purchase.

Bottom line- the benefits are endless for product based businesses who add a blog. I can't wait to see who's next!
